Abortion or Euthansia?

The recent buzz in the country is the verdict given by the Bombay High Court on Mehta issue. The couple wants to abort their foetus because it has got congenital heart disease.But the problem here is that the foetus is 26 weeks old. According to Indian law the abortion can be performed only if the foetus is under 20 weeks. Here comes the problem for Mehta’s, since it is 26 weeks old the court denied permission to go ahead with abortion.

My personal opinion is that the child should be aborted because even if it is born it has to undergo so many complications in life and moreover Mehta’s have to spend a lot of money to keep their child healthy. According to me this should come under euthanasia not as abortion. Because it also creates problem for that unborn child. Last but not the least; we must also consider how painful it must be for Mehta’s to abort their child, parents holds more love to their child than any other person in the world, when they feel that their child must be aborted we must respect their decision.
